The short version
We collect the minimum the product needs to work: what you give us to build a read, an email address if you sign in, and a purchase record if you buy something. We sell nothing about you, we build no profiles of you, and we set no cookies except the ones that keep you signed in.
What we process, and why
Material you submit—pasted text and attached files—is processed to generate your read and is kept with the read (it powers refinements and lets us re-validate our engine), for exactly as long as the read lives. What we store spells this out mechanically, including retention times and how to remove a read that is about you.
Your email address, if you sign in, identifies your account and receives the sign-in link. We email you a read only when you ask for it on the page. No newsletters you didn’t ask for.
Purchase records come from Stripe, which handles the payment itself; card details never reach us.
The people reads are about
A read describes how a configuration of public signals tends to engage—it is an inference, never a measurement, and every read says so on its face. Reads are private to whoever holds their link, are never published by us, never indexed, and never used to train anything. Anonymous reads expire on their own after seven days; signed-in reads are kept until their owner deletes them. If a read is about you and you want it gone, you don't have to write to anyone—paste its link at Remove a read: an anonymous read is deleted immediately, and a read tied to an account files a removal request to that account so it's ended at the source.
Who touches the data
Four processors, each doing one job: Anthropic generates the reads, Supabase runs sign-in, Stripe runs payments, Resend delivers sign-in email. Hosting and cookieless visit-counting run on Vercel. None of them may use your data for anything beyond that job.
Your choices
Use the product without an account and everything you make expires on its own. Ask us to delete your account, your reads, or a read about you, and we delete them. Write to hello@theapexos.com.
